Boost your Confidence & Improve Your Performance

This program is for athletes that are experiencing any of the following:

  • Beat yourself up or too hard on yourself, even when you play well
  • Doubt yourself or don’t believe in your abilities
  • Compare yourself to others and focus on how much better everyone else is
  • Don’t have the confidence to try and make plays
  • Lose your confidence when things don’t go your way or when you face adversity

Confidence is one of the most important skills for being successful in any area of life and is often what separates hockey players at the elite level. A confident athlete enjoys the game more, they are not worried about what others think, they can block out all the distractions going on around them and focus on what they can control, and they confidently try to make plays and don’t let mistakes get them down.

The Confident Athlete Program helps you complete the 9 exercises that give you the mental tools to be self-confident, overcome self-doubt, and not allow external events to kill your confidence. These exercises have worked for 100’s of athletes.

Check out some of our examples below.

Program Includes:

  • 6 Modules of Video Content.
  • PDF Workbook with 8 Exercise Worksheets.

“Before I was struggling with confidence and I was getting frustrated. Now I am making more confident plays with the puck and I have improved my offensive production.”

Thomas Stewart, Defense, Barrie Colts Draft Pick, OHL

“Before starting I was negative going into the rink and frustrated with my situation. Now I am so much more confident. I hold the puck more. I do what I can in the shifts I get. I am more positive about hockey. I want to go to the rink and get better even more now.”

*Went from 2 pts in 13 games to 19 pts in last 26 games – approx 500% improvement in pts/game*

Camaryn Baber, Forward, Saginaw Spirit, OHL

“Before I was really worried about what others thought, I was overthinking and in a scoring drought. But now I have an effective way to reset and refocus myself, I am not worried about people in the stands or not scoring, I just go out and play my game, and I have increased my production!”

Owen Sculthrop, Forward, York Simcoe Express AAA

The ones who excel and move on in this sport are the ones who’ve mastered their inner game. I have been fortunate enough to have had the chance to train with Cassidy Preston for the past 3 seasons. Cassidy has helped bring my game and my outlook to the game to new levels.

Cassidy’s teachings have helped calm my game and give me confidence through strategic goal setting and positive affirmations. His approach to “process over results” has drastically brought down my stress levels and has allowed me to direct my focus and energy on what really matters; playing in the moment.

I strongly recommend Cassidy Preston to anyone looking to improve their athletic or personal careers.

Dan Spence, Professional Hockey Goalie

“Cassidy is a great resource for athletes, teams, and coaches to build the mental toughness, resiliency, leadership, and teamwork necessary for unlocking your full potential. His background as an elite athlete and leader in team sport, combined with his knowledge and background in the science of performance, gives him instant credibility when talking about and facing the challenge of sport. He builds meaningful relationships with athletes and teams and maximizes the impact of leaders. He is approachable, open, and a great communicator. Having worked with many mental skills coaches throughout my career, I can say that Cassidy is among the best in the business. He will make a positive impact on your performance and help you to live into your full potential.”

Dan Church, Head Coach Women's Hockey Team York University

“Dr. Cassidy Preston was an integral part of the York’s Men’s Varsity Volleyball Program over the past 3 years where he contributed highly towards our successes both on and off the court. His effort towards elevating our team’s individual mental preparation and most importantly our confidence allowed our athletes to achieve new heights in their game. Our program lost multiple starters/leaders due to graduation when Cassidy arrived and under his guidance, Cassidy helped usher in a new cycle of leaders such as myself to change our program for the better. In our first year together, our program struggled with a losing record of 9-11 however Cassidy’s dedication and commitment to building us into a growth-minded athletes pushed us towards future success. We won our conference the next 2 years with both a 15-3 and 12-6 records. Without his intellectual meetings, thoughtful team talks, and overall belief in our abilities as individuals, I highly doubt such success would have been attainable.

On a personal level, Cassidy is an instrumental part of my life as a varsity athlete. I became captain of the program upon Cassidy’s arrival and I can honestly say that he has contributed in shaping me into the leader I am today. He is an individual who not only demonstrates an extremely vast knowledge of sport and the mental preparation needed to be a top athlete but he shows a level of care and support towards his athletes that makes him unique to others. He once stayed 4 hours after our quarterfinal match talking with me and other athletes, embracing them following their heartbreak. I’m not sure of many sport psychology coaches let alone coaches that would do that for their players. Whether it is helping foster leadership in players, helping them overcome adversity by giving them techniques, or simply bringing teams closer together with meetings/group discussions, Cassidy’s input in all facets of sport psychology is invaluable. His passion towards sport and making people better is truly infectious.

I am now graduating from York with major awards in leadership and commitment and I have Cassidy to especially thank for that. I’ve learned a lot from him in our 3 years together and I strongly recommend Dr. Cassidy Preston to anyone looking to improve his or her careers in whatever path they choose in life.”

Tim Jensen, York University Volleyball Player & Team Captain

“I started working with Dr. Cassidy Preston to learn how to improve the mental approach of my golf game. He gave me advice not only applicable to improve my golf game but in my everyday life as a student. I was able to improve my focus and resiliency to adversity and difficult situations where I needed to manage my emotions. I look forward to working with Cassidy again.”

Noah Oakes, McMaster Golf Team

“Our son has had the benefit of working with Cassidy beginning last season and we have seen tremendous improvement.  The one-one-one time he spends with athletes is so valuable.  He took the time to uncover what the real areas of opportunity were by getting to know him, watching him play and also involving us as parents in the process.  The hockey mindset method became very much a part of our son’s routine pre, during and post-game routine.  We saw this was evident in his approach with teammates and coaches, and his confidence in himself and his ability.  He learned and continues to learn through his work with Cassidy how to get out of his own head, not overthink the game, and maximize his performance by using his reset routine and working through daily worksheets.  I would highly recommend any athlete competing at an elite level work with Dr. Cassidy Preston – he has been an amazing resource to our son and our family.”
